Veterans Services Officer - Belgrade

Become a Veterans Service Officer! This positon is located at the Fort Harrison office and serves as a case manager for veterans benefits claims. Responsibilities involve preparation, submission and monitoring claims, and serving as an advocate for veterans/veteran family member clients throughout the associated processes.
Other duties include maintaining office files, calculating and reporting statistics of the veterans served in the Fort Harrison outreach area. Incumbent must be able to attain within six months from hire date, and maintain a Veterans Affairs accreditation.
Must have demonstrated ability to work with and engage in diverse working environments within and outside the Department of Military Affairs.
This position is in the Veterans Service Officer Career Ladder. Placement and advancement to each career level are determined by job performance, attainment of required certifications and accreditations, and achievement of the minimum qualifications for each level.

Education: Associates degree in office management, business communication or social services and
Experience: One year experience in benefits and claim processing and/or military service with an emphasis on management services.
Alternative Qualifications: Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Conditions of Employment: Must be able to pass a background check and have a good driving record. Must be able to attain within six months from hire date, and maintain a Veterans Affairs accreditation. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
