Within assigned district, supervise and assist managers of all C-Store and Car Wash sites and oversee all lease locations. District Managers are the operational link between the field and the Corporate office. They insure that sites are operated according to company policies and guidelines and that they meet company profit standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct cash audits, implement expense controls, monitor all money in/out of C-Stores.
2. Monitor payroll for C-Stores in district.
3. Responsible for hiring, firing and disciplinary actions for C-Store Managers while overseeing these activities for cashiers, bookkeepers, deli managers, line cooks, waitress, lot workers, deli cooks, and assistant managers; document the good and bad when analyzing a situation.
4. Conduct performance reviews for site managers: C-Stores, Restaurants, and Car Washes.
5. Maintain locations in peak condition: appearance, competitiveness, and reputation.
6. Conduct Food and Beverage Audits. (Director Foods Service)
7. Maintain marketing and merchandising programs in C-Stores and deal with vendors when necessary. (Director of Marketing/Merchandising)
8. Review variety of reports for accuracy and future decision making including:
1. Purchase Orders, Vendor Receipts, Utilities, Payroll (Labor Expense Controls), Workers Compensation, etc.
2. Six week analysis, shrink expense control (inventory expense control)
3. Food Cost Analysis
4. Monthly percent on Grocery, Beer, Pop, Cigarettes (increase/decrease)
5. Labor Sheets, Consolidated 13 weeks
6. NSF check report
7. Profit & Loss report
8. Quarterly Analysis Report where appropriate
9. Enforce all standards and policies to ensure controls, customer service, profit increase, sales increase, and manager turnover are in order.
10. Car Wash - Inspect and conduct cash audit. (Car Wash Manager)
11. Assist managers in hiring and to make disciplinary decisions including firing recommendations based on valid documentation.
12. Conduct Grievance and other employee issue investigations.
13. Continuous travel to all locations within geographic area of responsibility.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
1. Test can at sites, fuel pump gages
2. Resets for Groceries. (Director of Marketing/Merchandising)
3. Lease changeovers.
4. Attend Town Council Meetings.
5. Follow-up Construction.
6. Manage changeover of facilities during reorganization.
7. Install camera security equipment.
8. Inventory stores merchandise.
9. Get bids for construction work.
10. Act as liaison between the Lease Locations and Corporate Office.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to manage people using effective leadership skills.
Ability to solve problems using logical skills to get to root of problems.
Knowledge of training techniques and the ability to use them successfully.
Calmly and thoroughly use professional investigative techniques to examine variety of administrative, operational and human resources issues.
Ability to work away from home for extended periods.
Knowledge of legal, safety, and personnel issues required to manage district sites.
Thorough knowledge of all corporate operating & administrative policies and procedures.
EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
High school graduate or general education degree (GED) and 2 years field work as a Store Manager with Town Pump; or equivalent education and experience. Course and general business, accounting, communications, and Supervisory Management (such as NACS course) a definite plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and accounting reports. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence using concise and accurate documentation. Ability to communicate accurately in all levels of the information flow. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Experience in the following software: MS Excel, MS Word, and company computer based program: PDI.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
